There is almost nothing more glamorous than the annual Cannes Film Festival, held each May on the Cote d'Azur. Only one thing eclipses the glitter and beauty of today's stars...Old Hollywood! Elizabeth Taylor, Sophia Lauren, Grace Kelly, Brigitte Bardot. They're inimitable.
And there is one family that managed to capture their beauty in this most glitzy of destinations (and still does!): the Traverso family. Three generation of photographers, Auguste, Henri and now Gilles, each there to witness the movie magic and immortalize its stars on film. The pictures are gorgeous, imbued with zest and personality. We especially love the 50s and 60s images taken by Henri Traverso.

In other Cannes news, our compatriot, Dutch filmmaker Alex van Warmerdam just premiered his film
Borgman at the festival. He's the first Dutch contestant in the running for a Palme d'Or in 38 years!
